Teamsters recognize that Dr. King fought not only for civil rights, but for worker’s and human rights! We have made some strides, but have to continue these fights because there are some who are determined to take us backwards!

It is known that Dr. King’s last fight involved standing with the sanitation workers in Memphis! We were honored last year to be able to make him an honorary Teamster of Local 728 in Atlanta, GA!

We have made it a priority to get the MLK, Jr. Holiday put in all our Teamster contracts! We want to ensure our members realize the true impact he had in the labor movement and encourage them to celebrate his legacy!
